Where We Walk

KJ Delaney

Don’t be afraid, come with me
We can count the footfalls
As our shadows stretch out in front of us
The sun behind, a watchful eye
The ocean, green blue; the tide rising to meet the sugar sand
Where we walk

Let your lungs fill with the salty breeze
You can put your hand in mine
and swing it to the rhythm of our steps
Let the seagulls laugh! We don't care
The journey is our destination
Footprints tell our story
Where we walk

A Gentle breeze tease the leaves
as they fall towards the ground.
Crickets chirp,birds sing,
listening to the buzz of bee's wings.
A winding dirt trail leads to a river.
And we pave the way building bridges
Where we walk
