THE BIRTH OF DIVINITY

Khushi Singh

THE BIRTH OF DIVINITY

One night, a divine child was born in dungeon

He was the God of love, tenderness and compassion,

The landscape of a holy river, which speaks of a story

Of Lord Krishna, whose birth brought immense glory.

A blue-black skinned little child,

With unique twinkle in his eyes,

Who demolished all demons around,

And became the smile of every living self around.

Leaving his beloved Radha

Murlidhar headed back to Mathura

Slayed the wicked Kansa’s superiority

And restored his father to the authority.

Now the time was of war,

Between Kauravas and Pandavas

Where he befriended Arjuna

And gave the immortal dialogue of Bhagvad Gita.

Today, Janamashtami is celebrated all around

With temples filled with the pious crowd

With immense joy and jubilation

And frolics and jollification.

One night, a divine child was born in dungeon

He was the God of love, tenderness and compassion

The landscape of a holy river, which speaks of a story

Of Lord Krishna, whose birth brought immense glory.
