Rough tree bark against my hands,
Seemingly eternal snow catches the light.
Hands violently shaking as my chest expands,
Ever unyielding is winter’s cold bite.
Every crevice filled with snow,
It’s almost as if it’s all I’ve ever known.
And that’s the true nature of 9 below.
