Shall i tell you the story
About the separation of mind from the body
It's gruesome yet not bloody
Full of people yet kinda lonely
I am ashamed but i tell you that proudly
I'll tell you the truth but i'll make it seem like i am lying
I can barely walk yet i paint the paper with a dream of flying
And it is life i am scared of - not dying
Which is saying something haunting
I can hear the ice singing the song about how it wants to break
Under the pressure held too long to take
Another minute
Eat the apple - says the snake the ancient spirit
It won't get any sader - even your despair must know a limit
Stop staring into the room of your past - there's no one in it
Now dim the light and close the shutter
Spill the gas and start the fire
Then out through the door and be gone in a flesh
Run from that blue door which soon will turn to ash
And now with your past up in flame
Who are you? What's your name?
Do you know yourself when not bound to that old chain?
I hope you understand you cannot remain the same
Every change requires a sacrafice
And your broken ice might just suffice
But it's never the fall but a landing that snaps the neck
And each banished demon can come back
So keep in check your thoughts and their stream
Don't let them wonder where they became sharp and mean
That's a path you already know a path you've already seen
And you should know it dosen't lead to anything clean
Instead take you pen and write a different chapter
Forget about the pain of yesterday with a dose of laughter
Because even the darkest of nights must be followed by a day
And that is everything i wanted to say
I stood there smitten
By his words so calmly spoken
Wondering if i am crazy enough to actually take
An advice from a talking snake
But it sounds like a good advice
Besides what to do now with all the pieces of that broken ice
Which soon will start to melt
And that could be a feeling likes of which i have never felt

a Great read!
love the way you flaunt your talent so confidently,
end rhymes, internal rhyming
off-beat melodic flow
purposed, free verse poetry!
a wonderful poetic treat,
thanks for sharing, dear poet
