Falling

James Michael

I’ve fallen

man,

really fallen.

Did I break something?

I’m all right.

Getting back up

for another day.

Another drink.

Another cig.

Another day.

... 'and when the pain recedes, enough
maybe even dare another: shaky step
    towards that - hopeful Next
we've yet, to be let down by'
imbued great meaning, in such succinct wording! thanks for sharing

Always top notch comments from your fingertips; thank you.

This one came from an interaction with a homeless person yesterday. His legs are ruined, barely able to walk. Fallen and still able to rise. A gift of a cig. wedged in his ear.

        seek for wisdom
beyond what your eyes can see
        they await,
in all the people, that have been adorned
by that most vaunted: Degree, of life...
(thanks for sharing, the added detail
enriched your write with the benefit
of the 'meaningful' context, it helped provide)
