Helianthus

camelot

I once was happy as a sunflower
Although, watching the sun go down
I always hoped the golden hour
Would last a longer time

Because I am afraid of the stars
And when darkness covers them around
They remind me of the scars
And the misery life left behind

Our love was like a winters day
It went by fast, while i warmed my soul
And when i was ready you ran away
I watched you leave still fair as gold

I was happy as a sunflower ay!
Carpe diem, wish i would've done
Along with memories, life slipping away Slowly fading just like the sun
Now i am like a sunflower waiting
To bow my head down when the Night come

  • Comment from author about the poem: Tried to encompass a lifetime within a day of a sunflower. Life's short, so remember to keep your head up and chase the sun while youre still here. And when the time comes, bow your head down gracefully. Its somthing you cannot avert
