We're broken shells of the people we used to be, taking turns picking up the pieces and putting each other back together
And maybe love can be as simple as that
If you'll gather all my pieces and stitch me up good as new, I'll return the favor
We'll smooth each other's jagged edges, leftover from being thrown to the ground one too many times, like a river wearing a sharp piece of stone into a pebble
I'll submerge you in all the kindness I have left in me until the bitter sharpness in you softens
There's no need for that bitterness here, darling
Our love will be a safe haven against anything the world could throw at us
I'll be a constant force of compassion until you learn it's okay to let me love you
We'll discover how to love and be loved together

- Comment from author about the poem: As humans, we\\\'re all a little broken, and that\\\'s okay. It doesn\\\'t mean we can\\\'t love and be loved. Love isn\\\'t a cure-all either, but it can soften the edges enough so you don\\\'t bleed. And isn\\\'t that enough?

love is such a famous poetic prompt, i like the introspective nature of a poem written about love alone. Love is me trying to fix myself, if I can help you fix yourself too, that means i love you. Loved it alot.
Thank you! Love is often described as a feeling, but in my experience, love is an act. To me, love is showing someone that you're there for them, and are willing to help them navigate life.
