letters to a former lover #1

benedict

my dear,
can i call you that?
not applicable, but it carries weight
our fingertips no longer touch
our mouths no longer smile
too full of words left unsaid

let me say them now:
i loved you
i loved you and i felt trapped by you
not a fault of yours
the hills kept calling and i
well i could not resist.

you know how i am
forever chasing the sun
i think
i may have gotten too close
bringing you down with me
sorry
