I’d Like To Think

scebrynski

I’d like to think

Someday you’ll look back on us

Tenderly

I’d like to think

You’ll someday recognize

That I wasn’t afraid

To love you

Despite your flaws

And mine as well

I’d like to think

You’ll imagine me

As someone who didn’t

Fear the future

When they pictured

You by their side

I’d like to think

I loved you the

Best I could

With all I had

Maybe not the way

You wanted or needed

But loved you

Unequivocally

I’d like to think

You’ll imagine me

As someone you could

Have spent your life with

Had we only

Worked a little harder

    Lovely poem , but sad

  • L. B. Mek

    unassumingly subtle in delivery
but acutely succinct, in its poignant details and expressiveness..
    written, purposefully accessible and relatable
