Teardrop

Sonoran Bard

I am a teardrop.

Not a silly raindrop from some ambiguous cloud.

I seep through the cracks of windows to souls.

I am an emotion drop.

I gather as much as I can and escape in rolls.

Some of us fall on different things.

Usually paper like divorce documents or death certificates.

Or college degrees or diplomas, I’m not discriminate.

If you haven’t holy water, I’m the next best thing for a newborn.

Although between you and me, I think I work better.

Sometimes we fall on the floor, which is fine too.

Wedding days, beautiful sunsets, and times of regret.

Times of great loss, we can’t fill voids, but we will try.

Don’t waste my time.

Don’t wipe me away.

I run down your cheek as a final goodbye.

There’s more of us waiting to be sent away,

We’re here to help you back to being OK.
