Enough Is Enough

notformymother

I'm sorry you saw me start to love myself and that made you love me less.

You must have been driven by fear.

You must have seen that when women like me start to love ourselves the way we have been failed to be loved,

We harness irrepressible power.

It's okay that you didn't love me enough to change;

I loved myself enough to leave.

I wasn't made to be enough for you,

I am enough for me.

    Great poem. Change is not for everybody, and that's why we must leave some behind. Onwards and upwards.

      Thank you, Paul! Reminds me of this quote (not sure who the author is):
      "Grow with me or be outgrown by me"
