Drowning

scebrynski

I feel like I’m drowning

In all the words I never said to you

Neck deep in my feelings for you

I can’t breathe

My lungs fill with despair

Rather than the air

I need

To keep myself afloat

Still I struggle against the tide

I know you don’t want me

Yet I swim towards you

For you are the rock

I cling to

Hope is a powerful thing

But I fall under the waves

Pushed down and pummeled

Everything starts to go black

The current is too strong

Need you like water in my lungs
