a subtle obsidian symphony

Mermaid

an econobox of flint isolation
where redundancy pulls sepia
from dusted mothball frames

while chartreuse forests lie
quietly before the desert axe
casts chariots of fallow famine

while aegean fishermen cast lines
into catalina tales of jonah whales
skimming their viridian fantasies

a subtle obsidian symphony
of venison pythagoras droplets
where hickory deer and bison

acclimatize

stepping off hides
running knives through
garnet flecked ermines

    'an econobox of flint isolation
(a small car's spark of stifling humidity)
    where redundancy pulls sepia
    (where redundancy's, consequences)
    from dusted mothball frames
(is captured in an old style sepia scene, framed
    in neglect's dusty mothball themes)'
how brilliantly you utilise, your impressive vocabulary
to create such 'obsidian' sharp, poetic imagery..
(its a shame, such high calibre work
    usually equates
to a lack of accessibility, for the casual reader
because its us, that miss out on your poetic genius!
still, I thank you for choosing to share
    your insightful and pertinent commentary
    and I enjoyed
the way you brought comparison with the great depression, as a theme
    to unfurl the underlying similarities
    with modernity's, seemingly endless:
    age of anxiety!
A privilege to read your work, dear Poet
as merely a wannabe poet myself
    I humbly, read and learn)

Thank you for that uplifting and encouraging feedback 🙂
