day of the dead

siranswerer

Todays a day, like any other.
Unless, you've got people to remember.
If you've lost an aunt, uncle, or mother.
Celebrate them, at the beginning of November.

Todays a day, where you'll go to work.
Or school, if you're a bit younger.
That responsibility you just can't shirk.
But you know someone in endless slumber.

So eat and drink and laugh and remember.
Tell stories that lighten and weight your heart.
Because together at the beginning of November.
Theres someone, who has left a mark.

My mom’s birthday was November 1st. She passed in 2017.
So I will “eat and drink and laugh and remember... someone who left a mark. “ I appreciate your writing here.
(Funny story… Since my mother’s birthday is November 1st, her younger sister, my aunt, always jokingly told me the witches brought her after Halloween was done)
    Cheers.

I am sorry for your loss. I personally do not think death is the end, but the beginning. I hope you have fond memories, and can smile at them.
