No one sees

EthanMac

No one sees his tear-stained cheeks

No one sees his damp pillows

No one sees the frown under the smile and no one knows he's been unhappy for a while

No one knows the pain he's gone through and no one understands his past

no one sees how he's been struggling and no one sees his battles at night and how long they last

Why does no one see him?

No one sees his eyes

No one sees the lies

No one sees his smile

No one sees his light

He only sees the darkness

He will never be what others expect

He will always be full of loveliness

Why does no one see him?

Because he does not show himself.

Many reasons why this should be mostly attributed to the way he was parented.

As one person who 'did not show himself' I have slowly gained such strength here on MPS by sharing so much of myself in poetry over the years. There are many kind and understanding friendly poets here on MPS.

    Great readable, relateable poetry.

I understand these feelings you're expressing, so bravely
but, the most important thing to remember
is that, it's not: his Fault!
instead, it's the the fault of those who were intrusted
with the opportunity, to teach him
how to Shine, and in so doing
allow everyone to see him, clearly..
but thankfully, its Never: too late
just like when theirs a power cut
    and everything goes dark
    we need only find
    once candle - of hope
for us to find, the light in our lives
and so, he only needs to stay patient
until that first person, discovers him
    then, the brightness
from his relieved heart, will insure
Everyone, will see him with ease...
(thanks for sharing, such a poignantly relatable write)
