Can we survive this?

Mae Spragg

Useless words and useless conversation,

The casual fraying of a thread.

It's the bright blue light of a pixelated planet,

The conversations,

the only things that hold the threads taught.

How much longer,

Can even the thickest of threads be held in place?

The tether between you and me,

Even the smallest fibers will soon give way.

Threads of text,

Will never tie us together,

Their fragile pixels,

Smallest bits,

Will sooner snap than hold.

The pixels,

The small words,

The images of the day.

How much longer?

Until the words lose there edge?

The fragility of relationships so well defined
Yet the words shall try to link them
    Well crafted dear poet

A cry from the heart - difficult for me to unpick, but I would venture that the pixels alone can only be/should only be a complement to real solid relationships (term used in its broadest sense).
    Great poetry.

Thank you! That's definitely the way I was writing it. I wrote it in lockdown this year as my friendships feel apart because we could only communicate through online (pixels).
