Biswajit Rout

Two friends met a day,

Without telling their wives,

One was holding a sword in his hand,

And the other's pocket holding two knives.

One challenged the other to throw a knife on an apple,

The one who cuts the apple,

On the prize he gets the staple,

The one who misses, will be engraved upon leaves of maple.

Prizes were two,

A piece of silvered cloth and a coin,

Which was betted to be treasure of a pirate,

Hidden inside the island's soil.

The chaos continued, both ready to slice the apple,

You call your friends I'll call mine,

Let's see today, You or Me,

On whom will the devil dine.
