Northern lights

Jane Walker

Mountains sailing by, in monochrome they soar

Trees black, snow white this landscape steals your breath

Rugged tops, sides not so, pictures you see as by they go

Water flat, deathly cold

Air is colder still

Sky is grey, hiding lights that dance and swirl, colours bright

The eye is fooled but not the mind

Images remain
