The mask
it was a cartoon
where the yellow suit
played heroic
the mask
yes, the people wore
all time
hiding their emotions inside
carrying a smile
inside frowning all time
The mask
changed with times
from invisible
to visible now
with all colours and shades beside
mask, the new norm
without it
one, gonna be fined
visit the museums
mask on
visit the theatres
mask on
watch the artists
mask on
praise or cry
with mask on
who cares
whether you smile or cry
the mask
tangible
or intangible; you wear
my heart shall leap upon
in your glaring eyes
read the soul through the window of yours
with mask
or without a mask
it hardly matters to the loved ones beside

Mostly loved ones are accepting of the beast within the mask but strangers? If they saw the pleasure of encounters they may think me strange. Oh and the sheer joy of young childrens effervescence... unmasked my enjoyment could be misunderstood as the most evil of intent lurking.... a mask yes, I wear my mask.... society kind of demands one.
I found your poem thought provoking.
Thank you so much dusk….a mask maybe at times may be necessity at times…
A fine write S.
Thanks Orchi
I must admit, it is the norm. On the plus side, got a mask for everyday now. I think if we get through this year, we'll be okay.
I hope so
I am looking forward to going back to the days without mask
It was such a relief
