forgiveness is a scam

Angela-a

You were the one who put me here

But don’t take any credit

I never would’ve been this way

You just as much as said it

I need to find a way to be

But there’s no pressing pause

Letting go of everything

And seeing the real cause

Apologies are nothing now

I’m deaf to empty words

Your energy is wasted here

Your lies go on unheard

Your poetry I like, feels neat and sophisticated.
However, this site works best for readers and poets alike when there is a response, some dialogue between the poet and those who have taken the trouble to comment on the work.
Otherwise - diminishing returns in terms of readership.

Thank you for your thoughts! I do not always remember to reply to these so I appreciate the reminder 🙂

      all is forgivable, until
      that featherweight tape
      of Trust
      is fractured or broken
      at which point
      the ink of consequence, simply
      taints - everything
      and deems, it all
      irreversibly unsalvageable..
(a relatable read, thanks for sharing)

Once again such a thoughtful response, I always look forward to your comments!

        Beautifully penned dear poet
        It’s very emotive
After being hurt, an apology can’t mend the ways
Once the heart is shattered, nothing can glue it again

Thank you! Capturing the feeling of betrayal is hard but I am happy it came through strong

            I can understand dear poet
