Spring

James Alexander

Dreamily I Awake

to warming fingers of Spring.

The same rays that give

cause for songbirds to sing.

And although trees blossom and flowers bloom

giving beauty to the scent of Spring,

my heart remains in Winter

when songbirds were wont to sing.

Well I hope that by the time springtime sings into our souls you feel lifted from winters chill having survived the frosts.
