Seasons (self-composed song with lyrics)

Gunnar

Shimmering darkness, in the light of the moon,
knowing that day will come soon.
Melt fast the snow so that flowers may grow,
fresh be the waters that flow.

For seasons come and then seasons they flee,
Changing ever and so it must be.
Always seasons come and then seasons they flee,
changing ever and so it must be.

But I will always love Thee...

Sing with the birds in the warmth of the day,
rush with the cool winds that play.
Blue skies and white clouds so green is the grass,
For nigh is the future at last.

For seasons come and then seasons they flee,
changing ever and so it must be.
Always seasons come and then seasons they flee,
changing ever and so it must be.

But I will always love Thee...

Young are the newborn as they learn to survive,
to answer the call of the wild.
When summer is by and those cold nights grow long,
they must endure and grow strong.

For seasons come and then seasons they flee,
changing ever and so it must be.
Always seasons come and then seasons they flee,
changing ever and so it must be.

But I will always love thee, always love Thee.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This song is about eternal love as a constant in the circle of life. I wanted to use the seasons as they are a cycle that returns...all is not lost., the harshness of nature because we overcome adversity and that strengthens us. I created the melody the same day I wrote the lyrics...excuse the voice :-)
