I can't thank you enough
You buy me plenty of stuff
Yet sometimes I feel this isn't real
I know you mean well
But hey, can't you tell
A loving embrace
A touch on the face
Kind words instead
Of that denim and lace.
A look in your eyes
When I'm walking by
What I see only
Makes me want to cry.
And I don't know why
You brush off with haste
Every time, I come to your place
Bottle of wine
Singing great times.
Oh, yes you say
Changing is near
Tell me I pray
What I want to hear
For I am meagre
Feeling this way
Show me your heart
So, we can start
On a new chapter
Our love shall not part.

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem was inspired by a guy I went out with in my younger days. Although, he didn't buy me that much stuff, he did have a hard time expressing himself.
