Where Is Heaven

Ameljor

I sat alone in my room,
Screamed out to the dark,
Asking God,
Where is heaven,
I need a brand new start?
This place I am living,
These times are so hard.
I can’t stand it any longer,
And need a brand new start.

Drinking at the bar,
Some guy he said to me,
        If it’s heaven you're after,
You’ll find it in the trees.
And once again I cried out,
God whereabouts?
I keep on looking,
it's nowhere to be found.

This morning I woke up,
I had the strangest thought.
What if this place I’m living,
Is the Heaven I have sought?
I looked up to the trees,
To the thousands of green leaves,
     The sun was shining through,
And I felt Heaven here with you.

Ooo a change of perspective. Lovely piece.
    I love the thought provoking..

“ This morning I woke up,
    I had the strangest thought.
What if this place I’m living,
Is the Heaven I have sought?”

I have a poem called awakening that somewhat mirrors this thought process.
    Thank you for sharing ❤️
