Blind Side

Kurt Philip Behm

The last day of vacation,

you told me things had changed

The last day of vacation,

each word seducing pain

The last day of vacation,

a new look in your eyes

The last day of vacation,

unveiling your disguise

The last day of vacation,

your back to turn away

The last day of vacation,

our future gone astray

That last day of vacation,

the sun had left the sky

That last day of vacation

—hello became goodbye

    yup, I too have felt
    a vacation's blindsided, curse..
she left, for a few weeks
    relaxed in Canada
and I, barely got a few calls
    for a quickly whispered, hello
    upon her return
she delivered her loud and clear
    farewell..
decades later, and I'm no longer bitter
I just hope, she's doing well
(a write I could relate with easily, Kurt
    thanks for sharing)
