Making Up for Lost Time

Brandon Ramsey371983

Baby I been gone for longer than I thought, looking for the road to bring me home.

Now that I'm back it's time to pay my dues, making up for lost time I should've spent with you.

Thick and thin you always had my back, never should I have left you dealing with all that.

Now that I'm back it's time to pay my dues, making up for lost time I should've spent with you.

Years gone by our life became three, you holding it all without help from me.

Now I am back it's time to pay my dues, making up for lost time I should've spent with you.

New life blossoms again with us as family, my mind clear and soul happy.

Now that I'm back it's time to pay my dues, I will continue to make up for lost time I should've spent with you.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is how I just felt about expressing my heart to my beautiful girlfriend and soon to be wife and mother of my children, 10 years is a long time spent with each other and half of it we was always apart. We are just now getting to be the family that we are meant to be and I wanted to let her know how much I appreciate her.
