L. B. Mek

Ignited

Skin, on skin - on skin, skin

fingers, caressing back of head

fingers, grabbing hair

fingers, equipped - with enough heat

to melt Winter, into late-Summer's flames

shoulders, burning - a lava serenade

arms, goosepimple - frozen

fingertips, piano dancing on skin-tight jeans

searing, heat on - heat - on heat

culminating, succumbing to a stolen breath;

lips and tongues linger – teasing, enticing

reached-for, sensual Ignition

too late, for embarrassment’s restraint

Stars decreed - we’re, all-in

this: is that irreversible, in Fate.

Give-in, surrender

Time, swimming in stagnant forever

No past

No tomorrow

No consequence

even Pain, of memory's

of calloused heart's

of knowing – strained, sighs

regress, to offer a moment's peace

Just, now

Just, you

Just, me

Us!

Burning, yearning - fearing

when this dream, ends

will we – too, awake

to another

well-trodden – tale

of trampled hope’s: trails?

Another, nightmare

waiting, to lull us in

or, maybe

Please!

Can, We - create

something, genuine and lasting

with integrity of loyalty:

Finally!

For once will blinked forgotten, passion

not, be - warped

into momentary attraction’s: futile intoxication

fuelling, a lifetime’s - sentence

of regretted, frustration.

Clasped hands

playfully, intertwine

as exhilaration’s exhaled, steam

reignites, a tingling - expectant skin

hair - in eyebrows, hair draping ears

hair glued - to everything

overwhelming, nerve-endings

sweat

dripping

our

Amazon’s, rainforest of humidity scenes

recreated

in fogging, Moon-spotlighted windows.

How, can anything this

sensual, this subtle

this: sacred, harm us?

Even, eventually – if Beatifically warped

corrupted

as poisoning of Love’s, purity

at a flippant, flip

of reactionary, inflamed words

of entitled, petulance

dampening, Romance’s tired flames

to unveil

yet another: shattered furnace

of once, volcanic dreams.

Still, while shooting Stars

exist

We too, refuse

to wilt, in-face

of Time’s, relentless thieving

just, one captured moment

of serene stillness

in a comforting, soft smile

is enough: defiance

for our wishing well’s - to believe;

as We, stubbornly - pull closer

elongated, sipped breathes

to let our pulsating pace, reset

before resuming: willingly.

Choosing, bravely

to invest wholly

in this, our serendipitous

gifted night of opportunity!

Please

let our, new Beginning

be

that Spring, of Nature’s - unflinching

Veracity

all those deathless Poet’s

inked

in-to, sizzling words: of intoxicating sensuality.

Isn’t a moment of heat fades away
    A long lasting love stays
    A deep imagery runs through
Maybe its a different kind of heal
    These lines -
    Give-in, surrender

    Time, swimming in stagnant forever

    No past

    No tomorrow

    No consequence

Though it took a different meaning for me

    • L. B. Mek

      meaning, is - in itself,
      meaningfully, its own Poetry;
      although two sets of eyes
      look upon, the same view
they will never be, two identical
      mind's or heart's
to think or feel, with meaningful likeness
      but never, quite
      too much, alike
to destroy nature's gift, of diversity
      in our quintessential: humanity
      in that, simple truth
      rests the beauty, in all-things
      Poetry.
"Beauty is truth, truth beauty,--that is all
Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know."

          sensual, this subtle
          this: sacred, harm us?

            well, trust you Hyung
to go and highlight, my favourite part
imbued in those words, you chose
is all my motivation for scribbling this write..
            thank you!

There's alot of 'loss' behind those words. A longing which wants so desperately to overcome the fear of heartache. It's not loving which harms us so, but the withdrawl of that loving one-ness which leaves us so alone and betrayed maybe.

I can feel these words of yours today are really heartfelt words and capture much of loves 'one-ness' upon the page/screen. As could only be written by a soul who has been there in the real 'touchy-feelie world' of life.

            • L. B. Mek

              'from your pen
              to her heart...'
how very insightful of you Dusk
I thank you! with the utmost sincerity

            • Nicholas Browning

Jesus, H, *****. What a read. I'm sure other people have a different view, but to me this would come from a place of sheer desire, almost obsessive rage, or of a love so deep no one could possibly understand it. This was a wild ride, and I enjoyed the playful language and structure. A job well done, L.B.

              • L. B. Mek

I agree, when lost in the initial purity
                of attraction and love
                sometimes desire, tip toes
                the borders of obsession..
                what a fantastically poetic comment
                thank you, dear Poet

              • Fay Slimm.

Wow - how glad I am not to have missed this breath of inspired imagery on coupling for love's sake and hoping togetherness lasts forever - a perfectly scribed reason to hold tight to its sacredness.

                "Choosing, bravely
                to invest wholly
                in this, our serendipitous
                gifted night of opportunity."

the above words did it for me Mek and I relate wholly . A great read.

                • L. B. Mek

'how glad I am not to have missed'
I recall these words, from your very first comment
on my very first scribble (I think)
                  years later, and your kindness
never falters in your willing support
                  and endless encouragement, for that
and much more, I thank you
                  wholeheartedly, dear Fay

                    thank you! means a lot
                    coming from an intuitive Poet

to melt Winter, into late-Summer's flames" - It does not get more flammable than this. I love how it unfolds, petal by petal. A truly lovesome thing! - Thank you, fellow writer. I am inspired!

                      Awesome!

can wish to receive, as praise

                        • L. B. Mek

just an outpouring of instinctive wording
had I tried to write these words
during a moment of cold level headedness
                          I would have dismissed them
                          as mere worded theatrics
but for this scribble and at that stage
                          of the impassioned expression, conveyed
I too: like to think it fits,
                          such is the wonderment
                          of inking ourselves naked..
(really appreciate you taking the time
to look back and read, how very kind)

Fantastic. This, and your other poems, display your impressive ability to convey the deepest, most human emotions in the fewest of words. I wish you luck in your career

what a generous soul, you've cultivated
and choose, to share with the world
                            humbly, I thank you!

                              Awesome!
Especially since your writing encouraged me
to attempt something, so blatantly transparent
I'm usually much more guarded in my poetry.
                              thank you!
