Kurt Philip Behm

Salt lick temptation

lures that dangle,

camouflaged darkness

masks and blinds

Easily captured

when most attracted,

flypaper memories

—trap and bind

    and we've allowed ourselves
to be caught-up in the nets
    of life's unnecessary, distractions
    since we were, but tadpoles
    looking up, at those shorelines
    to our evolutionary dreams..
