The Wolf

alsimmons

Benevolent but instinctive, sad orbs of a terrestrial beast gaze upon a celestial Goddess Embedded in a cosmic abyss.

Wooed by her beauteous visage it’s raw bosom aches, then passion inspired a fool’s Quest: when she sank into the ocean, to earth’s end it Raced.

Winter bleached earth in cold white sheets, spring prepared for Summer’s warm heat, And Fall initiated earth’s yearly rest.

Every night this lonely beast climbed the highest summit and stared at her lucent Countenance with query in it’s eyes and filled the sky with a Sullen tune_

Now you know why the wolf howls at the moon.
