There are times
Times when I want to
Spill my heart out
All its contents
Like the soft painful teardrops
From a squeezed out sponge
Words scratched in fire-bird red
On just a small piece
Of cardboard...
Times when my words
Sob, laugh, freeze, melt
Or fall in innocent cream puff
Fragile snowflakes on my hand...
No matter how many times they
Unwrite themselves
Rewrite themselves
Or get erased
No matter how many times they
Fall in pigeon-gray puddles
With sky-blue patches
Leaving shadows of rainbow messages
Luminous like a comet’s tail...
They still glow...
Illuminating every sentence
Punctuated so elegantly
With a simple period...
You know today... I will go looking
For my message... looking for my rainbow
Word trapped inside a crystal tunnel
Perhaps it’s still there...
Indigo, flaming sunrise and pale blue
Writing, rewriting, erasing itself but mine...
Falling, rising, stumbling and rolling
Tumbleweed-fashion blown through
With the gusty winds of creativity
Caught in the net of a basketball hoop
In a forgotten backyard
Crossed out and highlighted,
Surrounded with
Emphatic quotation marks
But again it is mine...
So today I will go looking for my word...
It has traveled piled among numerous
Things in dusty suitcases... stumbled
Underneath benches in rain and snow
Has journeyed trapped between
The weather-beaten pages of my
Favorite books...
Lost itself underneath strangers’ footprints
Found itself in front of the steps
Of a beloved poet’s home
I know that in the end my word
Will find a nest inside...
Inside a stranger’s smile where
Surrounded by celestial light it will
Finally learn to pulsate happiness...

Loved the read ! Great poem … so engaging and I love the flow 🙂🙂
Thank you so much!
I think you will find that celestial light, and you should definitely take your time looking. The right one at the right time is worth the wait.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. Dreams are definitely worth looking for and waiting for.
Aww, did ya miss yesterday's rainbow, being in the U.S.?
Here in U.K. we had one, and part of a second one behind it, it looked like.
Oh it looked like you had a double rainbow. How lovely. Thank you!
