Like a bird needs a dwelling,
a shield from thunderstorms and rain,
those going on a journey
need someone who remains.
Lost in wilderness fearing
where to spend a night.
Tired of the struggle
to find a little light.
Ordinary folk,
if I only knew!
Not only buildings are lighthouses
but people can be too!
Natives at their homes
offer gentle care.
A hero could not be celebrated,
if they were not there.
It takes courage to set a foot
in unknown foreign lands.
It takes strength to live a simple life
and labour with your hands.
There are different types of people
and distinct kinds of pain.
World needs courage of brave pilgrims,
patience of those who remain.

- Comment from author about the poem: While hearing about famous travellers who mediate to us their experience about the world, I find it important to think also about people who do not travell anywhere. Who are able to share different aspects of their coutries to the tourists and foreigners.

Nice poem.
'Ordinary folk,
if I only knew!
Not only buildings are lighthouses
but people can be too!'..
Outstanding flow,
in what is a sumptuous read
of insightfully invigorating: Poetry!
