Studying, as an athlete of wisdom
is akin
to swimming practise for marathoner’s
acquiring stamina: without
knowing that burning sensation of blisters.
Instead, I recommend
first, let’s listen to ourselves
then, try listening to others
lastly, let’s find a middle ground
where we may hear: silence itself.
Only then, can we
truly attempt
to speak our minds:
uncorrupted
and free.

So very true Mek, we must find ourselves within that silence.
Andy
'we must find ourselves within that silence.'
wise words, Andy..
(centre ourselves
right in the core of life's hurricane
where, we can be at one
with all that truly matters, to us
all the rest
is merely surrounding debris
caught-up, in the windswept chaos
of a wasted, fleeting existence..)
Adore Satie's music.
Andy
so ahead of his time, we've still
to catch up, to him!
'seek ye
a soundtrack to serenity
I offer you, what Satie
so fit, to gift!'
(it's always the quirky loner's
that gift humanity
its cherished: timeless legacies)
Wow - a mixture of Satie and your words of wise meditation - a real treat today L.B. and thank you for sharing them both
thank you, dear Fay
I wasn't going to post this write today
but, while listening to Satie on Sunday
I realised, the two together
could help, create
a unique, Monday morning escape
Contemplation.... the route to wisdom.
Satie teaches, there is beauty in simplicity.
Amen!
'wow, how you distil my scribbles
with such succinct clarity, Dusk'
thank you!
Good write LB.
Yes - middle ground. Sometimes it can save us from bigotry, fanaticism, being extreme, too self-opinionated, all sorts of selfish things.....
A man of religion, no less, earning title of hypocrite, I suspect, said: 'I'm a man of peace; and anyone who doesn't agree that's true, I will punch on the nose!'
Always need that anchor to weigh us down in our thoughts and lives. We don't need another Icarus disaster. A fine work to you L.B.
how interesting
that you mention Icarus
and his ill-fated, youthful ambition
indeed, we all need something
to ground us
in our moments, lost
aspiring, for dreamed mirages..
thank you for your insightful words, dear Poet
Good Advice!!!!
Awesome!
sage like words from a master of words ......................................... N
because it's you Hyung,
I'll just humbly: say thank you!
I really like your way with words. Thank you for sharing.
how very kind, your encouraging words
are appreciated, much more
than you can imagine, dear Poet
Mek - I just LOVED without
knowing that burning sensation of blisters.
A little whimsy in the mix of wisdom.. ...
lol - thank you
ah, forgive my pretentious bravado, dear poet
I know as much about running marathon's
as I do, about jumping from planes
without parachutes;
but still, we can but hope - that all is forgiven
in the name of artistry's: metaphorical whimsies
Course it is! That's the point! lol....
I am just a shadow of my ignorance, and pray that I learn to first understand the depth of your poetic words
I do strive to make my writing
as accessible, as it can be
if I failed to do so, I'm sorry
(I think, I was just trying to say
let's find a way, to find
what's really important, to us
on a personal level, before
we engage
with the sensationalised, distractions
in our chaotic world)
or something like that, lol
Listen thyself and not shun
Carefully choosing the words to embrace
So well put dear poet
A much needed insight
Often in criticisms we forget to address the most important person and that is the voice within
really good advice,
I'll endeavour to heed your words
thank you!
Nice write LBM
