your eyes

rebmasters

Your eyes golden
in the morning
light that tiptoes
to the window
& peeps through the
soft silk curtain,
seeing if we
are awake yet.
Tell me you don’t
have to leave yet
without using words
that chirp like birds
out early in
a turquoise sky.
Gently, I sigh
in your arms
& look up just
to be dazzled
by that soft face
lit up, gilded,
radiant &
otherworldly
with the light of
those bright, gentle
& golden eyes

I'd pay good money to see a sight like that.
