Tears

AnAlpaca

Tears fall like rain,
None see this pain.
Sitting in a corner,
A silent mourner.
*
Tears splash on the floor,
She walked out the door.
She'll dance the night away,
Despair's toll I'll pay.
*
Tears fall unseen,
To all, I'm unclean.
Something in me,
Causes all to flee.
*
Tears leave their mark,
Wet, salty, stark.
Sliding down my cheek,
None take a peek.
*
Tears fall, go unheard,
All aid is deferred.
Resolve fails,
Tired, old tales.
*
Tears eventually dry,
Someday, I won't cry.
On Earth, none care,
Only companion, despair.

  • Comment from author about the poem: We all shed tears, whether on the outside or in. They fall down our faces. We feel either hurt, joy, sadness, pain. Sometimes people see them, sometimes they don't. We all shed tears in our own way.
