The Dream

AnAlpaca

In my dreams I see you,
W/ eyes of deepest blue.
Smiling face, soft hands,
We trod upon sodden sands.
Holding hands, the sun sets,
Neither of us has regrets.
A life w/ you ahead of me,
Loneliness I set free.
A dream come true tonight,
Under a darkening twilight.
I am yours; you are mine,
Us together, life so fine.
Facing others we swear,
"I do!" we declare.
Waking up, it's all gone,
Here comes a new dawn.
All a fabrication,
Oh, the aggravation!
Like an early spring frost,
The dream is quickly lost.
