Church Bells

StephanieAnn

As the clock strikes midnight the church bells sing their song

I slowly start to feel refreshed as I’m figuring out right from wrong

The song of the church bells are a sound you can’t forget

As it guides you through life being able to live with no regrets

The moon is out and it’s shining so beautifully bright

I can feel the sins, and all of the bad vibes leaving my body tonight

The church bells are still singing in the background

The amount of purity they bring is such an astonishing sound

For it helps me survive this life with halos all around

Because when the church bells sing their song

I slowly start to feel refreshed as I’m figuring out right from wrong

I can’t explain exactly how I feel in words

I just hope one day I can be the happiest and strongest girl

As the church bells continue singing, ringing, and playing

The symphony of their song is everything I need to hear as I finally kneel down to start praying

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote it for a friend who is trying to better her life as well as I am also. It means a lot to me because of the fact that I know or can relate to some of the hardships my friend is going through.

Far from being a believer in what goes on within a church I find many aspects of our churches fascinating. Those bells certainly are fascinating and can be rejuvenating.

There's a little church about a mile from my house that rings the hours from 8 am to 8 pm (they stop overnight). I am not religious but I have very similar feelings to what you expressed here every time I notice the bells. Welcome back. Hope you are feeling well.
