You are as far away as a northern sky
Where the blue gray horizon
Weighs as heavy as the cold air
On eyes welling up with tears
And draining long frozen tracks
Spelling your name across my emotions
I reach out with my arms and hands
And there is nothing of you to hold
Just memories, words
Feelings immobile in time
Without fire or energy
Far below the surface of
An iceberg of white passions.
Yes, far away you are as golden Sun
The atmosphere of my days are
Now bereft of magic or flame
To satisfy me with warmth
The space between your words grows
Miles of endless miles of
Chilly absences, winds
Blowing my joy offshore
Thoughts wreck on dangerous
Shoals beneath my resolve
Meager portions no longer satiate
My hunger for you
They only remind me I’m starving.
Only the red sky at night burning
Yes, burning with the color of your lips
Coming closer and closer to me
Eyes and amorous face
Fingers and hands and breasts
Hips and secret gardens of
Original magic and flowers
Offer complete relief
Bring your best revival
To cold limbs
Still as statues
Breathe your life into me
And reset my heart in motion.
