The Thing I Love

James Alexander

The way you run to avoid raindrops

falling from January's desolate gown.

Leaping over puddles that

cover rain soaked ground.

The sparkle in your eyes as they reflect

the crystal snowflakes that fall

while arm in arm we walk

during a cold dark winter's stroll.

Watching the soft innocence

of your beautiful face

nestled asleep in my arms

with a peaceful loving grace.

The look in your eyes and

the smile that lets me see

the love in your heart

reserved there just for me.

The taste of your lips

so inviting, soft and wet

while holding you close

against mine they are set.

Of all of the things

through and through

there is nothing I

don't love about you.
