Travail

Draven

The darkness is not quiet;

Thoughts laden with accusations,

eating away at her very existence.

They know her weaknesses, better than anyone else.

She's aware that she's slipped.

And she knows better,

Yet despite it all, she is here,
In the dark place.

She has been here once before.

But this time it is different;

She is ready for the travails ahead.

Even when she thinks she is not.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem is still connected to the others I have posted, yet it follows a different rhythm. I think it still works. No German this time, because....I got lazy? No, I didn\\\'t think it fit.

    Paranoia screams thoughts we would rather leave buried and leave us unable to hide from ourselves. Love the depth and powerful emotional pull of this piece.

      Painful to be in a dark place In life … makes me feel sorry for this girl ..

      Everyone deserves light in their life

        I think everyone has their dark places. And with dark comes the light.

        Good write D.
        A dark place - where one hears me sing, but can't see me, and thinks it's two cats fighting! heehee.

        • Draven

          Like the gothic.
          When you go back to the dark place twice, it's usually for revenge or your death.

          • Draven

            I think the dark places are always there, coming and going from there just mean that you accept them as a part of your life.
