home to ireland

jim56

going back to ireland across the irish sea
the place where i was born that is home to me
with its fields of green with colours by the score
is where i long to be. home sweet home once more.

to my friends and family i just long to be
to the place i love that is home to me
the place where i was raised.spent my younger days
that i spent with mamma and her loving ways

to the land i love that makes me feel so free
warms my heart inside wakes the soul in me
back to all my roots is where i long to be
in my home sweet home across the irish sea

with its fields of green with colours by the score
is where i long to be home again once more
the place where i belong. where i long to be
the land where i was raised with my family.

with its fields of green with colours by the score
home again to ireland to the irish shore
with its fields of green with colours by the score
is where i long to be home again once more

The little bit of Ireland that I saw on holiday was so beautiful and your poem has brought back the memory vividly. Thank you.
