Time Spent, Time Gained

Greenfairy489

Required to be on time

Yet never to use one's own mind.

Machines may replace,

No matter how quick one's pace.

Grinding on for others gain,

Perhaps even going insane!

All for fulfillment of basic need

Or maybe even monetary greed.

Day by day hour by hour

Time it seems has all the power.

If not too exhausted when work is complete,

What joy! To finally be off of your feet!

Returning to little laughter and hugs

Milk spilt all over the rugs,

Somehow it all seems worth the aggravation

When welcomed back home with such elation!

    Very relatable and nicely written!

Children or even cats could fit your sweet words of being missed and being loved. Your final stanza really makes the reader smile the thought that no matter how hard a day you've had they can make you smile.
