Who am I?

I thought the day was fun,
But it's the opposite of that one.
You are the one beside me,
But it feels like I am nobody.
I want to escape these feels,
the feeling of loneliness
Coz it really hurts,
My eyes want to burst.
You were upset, and I listened.
I was lonely, yet you escaped away from me.
Am I somebody?
or just Nobody.

  • Comment from author about the poem: For the past 12 years, I've had a best friend. We were classmates from first to seventh grade, until I moved to another town. We're still friends, even though we don't hang out as much now that I've transferred, but I still treat her as my only best friend. We talked and met at my one friend's debut party one day. I was present, and she was present, but I was alone. As she's the only person I knew at the party, I expected to have a long talk with her, but I was lonely. I was upset, but it's okay because she was able to spend quality time with her lover. Still grateful for the opportunity to meet her and attend the debut celebration.
