Weed

kristipal

I saw this dandelion in my yard today amongst the fallen leaves

It’s yellow petals shining bright it seemed the weed I was supposed to see

Everything around this weed was already dead and it’s contrast was dark and stark

But today I saw this yellow weed and it spoke words to my heart

Ive been plucked, stomped and overlooked…seemingly always being discarded

being treated like I’m that dandelion, a weed, just nothing but a problem

But today I noticed you alone all vibrant and shining bright

You were amongst the deadness of natures hand but hey, you were still thriving

I know exactly as you’ve lived struggling for your place amongst the flowers

Little weed I love you so because despite everything you were still surviving

Strangely enough, weeds do kick ass.

      Their persistency makes them formidable!
