Not Today

AnAlpaca

Dodged a bullet,
Reaper passed by.
Asked if I was ready to go.
I shook my head, "Not today."
He stared at me.
Scythe glistening.
He turned and walked away.
I almost went after him.
"Not today," I told myself.
"Not today."

Very dramatic poem the imagery and subject matter and indeed we all have said not today at least once in our lives
