Dodged a bullet,
Reaper passed by.
Asked if I was ready to go.
I shook my head, "Not today."
He stared at me.
Scythe glistening.
He turned and walked away.
I almost went after him.
"Not today," I told myself.
"Not today."

Excellent Poem. And very powerful message of continuing on.
Thank you. Was going through a time when this one came into my mind.
Very dramatic poem the imagery and subject matter and indeed we all have said not today at least once in our lives
Yes. It's important that we all remember that we can say, "Not today." Thank you for reading!
Yes continuing on but slight wish to follow him no? I've felt that.... good shorty.....
Thank you!
