Shall I tell you what love is?
No, I shan’t
I shan’t tell you, love is gentle, love is kind
Or even that love is blind
I shan’t tell you, love is the key to your heart
Such smooth words won’t make it start
I shan’t tell you, love is sacrifice, love is pain
And without love, there is little to gain
I shan’t tell you, love is bitter, love is sweet
For love is much more than a trick or treat
I shan’t tell you, love will stand the test of time
That your adventure will be evermore sublime
I shan’t tell you, love is patient, love is true
Or that love is greater than him and you?
Greater, for it can’t be conquered or contained
It’s a mystery that cannot be explained
Yet, unto you the mystery is revealed
And in this place, the mystery is sealed

Very nicely written and excellent messages throughout
Thank you, Draven. I appreciate your thoughts!
I'm not keen on love poetry, but enjoyed the conceit.
It's the only love poem I've written, requested for a friend's wedding reading. Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
