Christmas Blessings

Audrey Cocker

Christmas blessings.

Month of December heralds in,

Joyous message of  Advent Season

Of hope ,faith, joy, peace,

To celebrate on coming birthday

Of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Snowflakes falling on ground,

Chilly breeze blowing all around,

Bringing in musical notes of,

Practice of carol singing of,

Cheerful singers young and old.

Celebration  is in the air,

Decorations of office, schools, homes,

Presents wrapped kept under glittering,

Beautiful Christmas tree stockings

Hanging in the  corner for Santa.

Nativity play by young children,

Telling the story of birth of,

‘Son’ of ‘Almighty  God’ on

Earth in a ‘lowly manger’

Wrapped in swaddling clothes.

Christmas blessings come pouring in,

On loving, caring, hearts and minds,

On generous souls who reach out,

Willing to help the needy,

With time, money and care.

Christmas blessings comes to them,

Who take time to visit the lonely,

To listen to their silence,

To bring them out of their shell,

To bring smile on their faces.

Christ Jesus pour your blessings,

On those grieving hearts who ,

Have lost their loved ones,

Who still wait for their return,

To hear their voice once more.

Christmas blessings come pouring in,

Where there is sharing of sorrows,

Where there is rejoicing in laughter,

Where there is deep bonding,

Of mind, body and spirit.
