I Saw You.

Ria

Like the tide rolling away, I saw you
Broadening the land, as a mind
Sharing beauty and mystery,
Revealing a life which lies beneath.

Like buds forming in spring, I saw you.
Eager to open, as a heart.
Exposing it's truth, it's colours and scent
Bringing life once again to a barren world.

Like the moon emerges from the clouds, I saw you.
Awakening the darkness, as a spirit.
Light dancing with life
Offering new meaning, new purpose.

I saw you, but, did you see me?

And so the waves returns, sheltering a hidden self.
Petals drop once again leaving a heart without magic.
An eclipse steals the moonlight, casting darkness over the silence.

I saw you. But I lost me.

      (why must our best art
      be inspired
      by our life's most crippling
      of hurt's)
