Tidings

Draven

When life is going swimmingly
When all seems to be going well
I somehow can't accept it.
I am always waiting for the messenger
to bring me bad tidings
or something that throws a spanner in the works.
I just can't seem to accept and appreciate that things are generally good.
But then it morphs into this worry about worry,
being stressed about being stressed
Until I learnt, that one mustn't fear these evil tidings,
To do so is just bad news.

I dunno where I get my positive outlook from. My mum was a great worrier and used to drive me nuts with her worries about what was going to go wrong.
People have told me that i have a great ability to forsee snags ahead but always with a 'work-around' or solution. Now i could call that being negative, thats ok. But i prefer to call myself positive. Have you ever considered calling yourself positive minded, give it a try, it just might work for you.

    • Draven

Nice. I don't think I would ever think of someone who has work around solutions for things, negative! Surely the opposite!
I get bogged down about worries etc, but I come clear.
FYI - this poem was about the past. I am not in that mindset anymore.

        my motto is
        'no news, is good news'
that way, even if the distance
or the unknowing, makes me worry
I can imagine, more positive hypotheticals..
(an intriguing subject and well written, thanks for sharing)
past half way in your challenge, only fifteen days left now
        hope you're having fun

        • Draven

Thank you! I am still having fun!

No news is good news is a saying for a reason. Yet, the unknown is scary for me haha!

It's seasonally 'good tidings' now, isn't it?!
Meanwhile - tidings were good for me, until a tide came in and sunk me sand-castle! lol.

          • Draven

Seasonly good tidings but I am a grinch and I didn't wanna write about that haha.

Haha maybe your tidings weren't so good after all if they could be swept away by a tide and there was sand involved!! 😛

So still challenging yourself as past life challenged you, this is a wonderful penning of personal feelings, keep your chin up almost there now ☺

              Thank you!

Had a friend who used to respond to 'good morning' with: 'yeah, but some SOB is going to come along and screw it up'. Your piece reminded me of him only with a more positive spin. Another great write Draven🙂

Oh wow, I find that kind of energy so difficult to deal with now!! Thank you!
