The Bee

James Alexander

The Bee

Today I saw a honey bee

and pondered how odd it was

that on this cold Valentine’s Day

it hovered quite close to me.

And in dwelling on the honey bee

I thought in all the world the

only thing sweeter than honey

is the taste of your lips to me.

And like nectar to the lowly bee

drawn by flowering sight and scent

it is your binding spell of beauty

that keeps me drawn to thee.

You're quite right. Some memories lie dormant until they surface. I chuckle at your observation. I welcome the comment.
