Wax

Draven

I met his gaze
and saw his despair

Painful to watch
but worse to repair

Words pack a punch
and pierce like a spear

Wax down my cheeks
scalding those too near.

Though he is near
I feel so alone

I reached in
and he turned to stone.

Poor Medusa damned by her own beauty. Painful to watch but worse to repair, love those lines, beauty in brevity.
